A few years ago, my family drove to Baltimore for Thanksgiving. We took the scenic route on the way there, winding our way through the Blue Ridge Parkway. My dad always sings Big Rock Candy Mountain any time we’re near the mountains. Growing up, we’d hear that silly song any time our family would go camping, almost every mountaintop hike, and of course any scenic drive through a mountain range.
